Lonnie Barker & Kenny Barker, two brothers, were always around music. There father was a professional musician for many years and was always in a band. In the Barker household there has always been a music room. A room with a full PA system, guitars, drums, mics, etc. Of course there was an old reel to reel recorder used to record demos and practices. Well as technology changed and finances allowed they would upgrade equipment. They always dreamed of doing music for a living, but never felt they could make a business out of it. As time went on the "Barker Boys" as people called them began recording themselves as well as friends on a small cassette portastudio. When a local radio station heard some of their recordings they suggested printing flyers. These flyers would be given away at the local level of a national talent search contest. Well when the brothers discussed it and decided if they were going to do it they were gonna do it right. So they started by buying a professional digital recorder. This would be a Tascam DA-88, which at the time was state of the art. Next they would take business classes at the local community college to learn how to make a business work. And of course the best part, they had to come up with a name.
